Fantastic driving instructor, highly recommended! I failed my driving tests a few times with other instructors but passed first time with Mark! Couldn’t have asked for a better teacher. Only sad part is that I probably won’t be seeing Mark again.

“When I first started driving, I’ve always been so nervous to drive and then I built my confidence from Mark. He always believed that I could do anything (even though I doubt myself half the time only because I never had the confidence at the time) and never fails to motivate me!
I never thought I’d enjoy driving lessons so much! It’s definitely easier to learn while having a laugh! He’s always been so helpful and made sure that I am comfortable with everything he’s taught me. He’s always made sure that I understand everything he says. Always asks me if there’s anything I’d like to do before a lesson which simply shows that he definitely care about how I feel. Always punctual and made sure I get a full hour lesson. Mark definitely knows his stuff! From all the exam routes to what the examiners are actually looking for!
I therefore definitely recommend Mark. If you want to pass your test without having to be scared with your instructor and feeling uncomfortable, I say Mark Halliday is the man! I wouldn’t have passed my test if not because of Mark.“

“I highly recommend Go Drive to any learners! Mark has been an amazing instructor for me, helped me build on my confidence to get me through my theory and my test.
He was patient, reliable and very easy to get on with which made me comfortable from day one. He worked around me when my hours at work varied, which is hard to find and helped me to a first time pass! Although he was very relaxed he wasn’t interested in messing around, he was just as eager as I was , to get me driving!

“I began driving a few years ago but gave up as I never felt confident enough, I began again in February and I’m so glad I chose Mark. He is friendly, calming, patient and very positive and anything that I was worried about he would go over it with me until I felt more relaxed about it. He is reliable and would pick me up from work and drop me where I asked. He has taught me different techniques which I’ve never been taught before and is highly knowledgeable when it comes to the roads and test routes.

“I was a person who at first put off learning to drive for a long time in fear of finding myself to be highly incapable. Similarly, the thought of ending up being stuck with an instructor who was possibly rude or awkward made the idea of undertaking the process highly daunting.
Because of this I was extremely nervous upon arrival to my first lesson with Mark. However, it was soon clear that such worries and nerves were not needed as from the first lesson Mark set the precedent of making each lesson enjoyable and productive and ensured that this standard was kept throughout all 25 lessons.
My first time pass is certainly a credit to the innovative teaching methods, good humour and friendly working relationship that Mark crammed into the full hour of each lesson.

“When I first started driving I was being taught by someone else who helped with the basics but then messed me around with lessons, went a month without lessons once due to constant rearrangements! I decided enough is enough and changed to you.
You were an instant improvement as you always picked me up from work and finished the lesson wherever was most convenient for me, always on time and always got my FULL hour of driving. I found that you were really good at explaining what to do but more importantly WHY to do it, made driving much easier to understand. Lastly as well as being extremely helpful and informative, you were really easy to get along with from day 1 and made every lesson a fun experience whilst still keeping the importance of improving in ability.
Overall I would STRONGLY recommend you to anyone who wants lessons from someone who knows what they’re doing, is always on time and can fit in around YOU and have a really good laugh in the meantime (For example our driving lesson “Route” was to get to the end of the rainbow and get the gold! haha )

“When I started with Mark I was a complete beginner (seriously, didn’t know there were three pedals) – less than half a year later I passed first time.
Mark is excellent at what he does – he’s knowledgeable, experienced and serious about the whole learning process. He knows the test and the roads inside out, and is patient and clear throughout the teaching process.
Whilst there’s no doubt who’s in charge during lessons, he’s personally easy to get on with and very funny. I recommend him to all my friends.”
