Getting Started

Before you get behind the wheel, you will first need to get yourself a provisional licence; you will, of course, also need to be 16 years old.

If you are unsure as to which licence you should be applying for, the Isle of Man Government provide all the information you need in their “Guide to applying for a Driving Licence“.

You can find the relevant licence application form here.

Although you will cover many theory aspects during your lessons, you will also need to do some swatting up for yourself. You will no doubt be aware you will be required to pass both theory and practical tests to gain your full licence and you may want to start by looking through the Manx Highway Code.
